those cultural awards... so confusing!

I know some of you are probably a wee bit confused by what you're reading on the net... yes, yes, we all know that wuri yong joon will be receiving a cultural award of some sort at 4pm this coming saturday. and you might have heard about how there're actually various different classes of the awards.

are you just like me, wondering what is what?

chinese fan xiao-lan-ren (little blue person) has done some background homework and shared the following on baidu. thanks much much!

basically, the awarding of such cultural badges was started by the government back in 2004. specially, these are awarded by the ministry of culture and touris,. the five classes of cultural awards are as follows:

1st Class: Cultural Award (Medal?) for Gold Crown

2nd Class: Cultural Award (Medal?) for Silver Crown

3rd Class: Cultural Award (Medal?) for Precious Crown

4th Class: Cultural Award (Medal?) for Jade Crown

5th Class: Cultural Award (Medal?) for Flower Crown

wuri yong joon will be awarded with the flower crown come 18th oct, sat.

in the past, the following people have won the cultural awardss (medals?):

1st Class Gold Crown: movie directors im kwon taek, shin sang ouk3rd Class Precious Crown: movie directors park chan wook, lee chang dong

as for acting talents, so far there have only been four who have been awarded the 4th class of Jade Crown. surprise, surprise, all four were actresses! and they all won based on their movie works, rather than dramas.

did you know in korea, actors from the silver screen sort of have a higher social standing than those who only focus on TV dramas? i guess the main reason why these four actresses were given the awards that's one rung higher than wuri yong joon is because all these actresses have won awards in international film festivals with their movie works.

anyway, the four past winners of the 4th class of Jade Crown were kang su-yeon (the surrogate woman), shin hei-soo (adada), jeon do-yeon (secret sunshine), and moon so-ri (oasis).

and oh, not sure if you remember, but wuri yong joon also won the Today's Young Artist award back in 2005 by the same ministry that awards the above cultural awards. if my memory serves me right, i think he didn't attend that ceremony, and my yang man had gone on his behalf. (jang nara will be taking home this award for 2008).

and it seems like last year, lee young ae (and jang dong gun too? not sure....) received a medal of cultural merit of some sort from the ministry as well.

it's totally confusing to me if LYA's medal was the same category of awards as those in the five classes. but my guess is these are different things. the above are quite possibly more concrete recognition of actual contribution to the development culture and the arts, whilst the medal of cultural merit is more general and less specific. sort of like a commendation or something...?

shrugs... i really don't know for sure, and my guess is probably worse than yours... so please, don't take whatever i blog here as accurate, coz i'm just guessing more than half the time. so hehe, i ain't gonna be responsible for my own writing in this entry, k?

anyway, various media articles have mentioned that wuri yong joon is the first hallyu star to receive the cultural award... now since lee young ae can also be considered a hallyu star, so this is further 'evidence' that the two awards (medals) are different, else wuri yong joon would not have been the first.

(and just in case you're wondering, the four actresses who won the 4th class Jade Crown ain't hallyu stars... so...)

ฉันรู้มาว่าคุณน่าจะเกิดความสับสนเล็กน้อยเมื่ออ่านบทความทางเน็ตนะคะ ถูกแล้วค่ะเราทราบว่ายงจุนจะได้รับรางวัลอะไรสักอย่างหนึ่งในตอนบ่ายสี่โมงของวันเสาร์ที่จะถึงนี้และคุณก็คงจะพอเข้าใจเรื่องของระดับชั้นที่แตกต่างกันของรางวัลแต่ละอย่างมาบ้างแล้วค่ะ

คุณเหมือนฉันไหมคะ ที่สงสัยว่าอะไรเป็นอะไร อันนั้นคืออะไร

พัดจีน xiao-lan-ren(คนตัวเล็กสีน้ำเงิน)ได้ศึกษาภูมิหลังเรื่องนี้เป็นการบ้านและนำเรื่องนี้มาแบ่งปันให้กับเราในbaidu ขอบคุณมากค่ะ

โดยทั่วๆไปแล้ว การมอบรางวัลเหรียญตราด้านวัฒนธรรมนี้เริ่มต้นมาตั้งแต่ปีสองพันสี่ โดยที่รางวัลนี้จะถูกมอบโดยกระทรวงวัฒนธรรมและการท่องเที่ยว รางวัลดังกล่าวแบ่งออกเป็น ห้าชั้น(classes)ดังนี้

ชั้นที่หนึ่ง เหรียญรางวัลด้านวัฒนธรรมขั้นมงกุฎทอง Gold Crown

ชั้นที่สอง เหรียญรางวัลด้านวัฒนธรรมขั้นมงกุฎเงิน Silver Crown

ชั้นที่สาม เหรียญรางวัลด้านวัฒนธรรมขั้นมงกุฎทรงค่า Precious Crown

ชั้นที่สี่ เหรียญรางวัลด้านวัฒนธรรมชั้นมงกุฎหยก Jade Crown

ชั้นที่ห้า เหรียญรางวัลด้านวัฒนธรรมชั้นมงกุฎบุปผา Flower Crown

ยงจุนที่รักของเราจะเข้ารับเหรียญรางวัลขั้นมงกุฎบุปผาในวันเสาร์ที่สิบแปดที่จะถึงนี้

ในอดีตที่ผ่านมามีใครบ้างที่เคยได้รับเหรียญรางวัลวัฒนธรรมพวกนี้นะ

รางวัลชั้นที่หนึ่ง ชั้นมงกุฎทองได้แก่ผุ้กำกับอิม ควอน เต้ก และชินชาง อุก

รางวัลชั้นที่สาม ชั้นมงกุฎทรงค่า ได้แก่ ผุ้กำกับภาพยนตร์ ปาร์ค ชาง วุก และลี ชาง ดง

สำหรับนักแสดงแล้วถึงตอนนี้มีเพียงสี่คนที่ได้รับเหรียญรางวัลในชั้นที่สี่คือชั้นมงกุฎหยก ที่น่าประหลาดใจยิ่งกว่านั้นทั้งสี่คนล้วนแต่เป็นนักแสดงหญิงทั้งสิ้น และพวกเขาได้รับรางวัลจากการแสดงภาพยนตร์ไม่ใช่จากการแสดงละคร

คุณรู้ไหมคะว่าในเกาหลีนั้นดาราชายจากจอเงินนั้นจะมีสถานภาพทางสังคมสูงกว่าคนที่แสดงละครจอแก้ว ฉันคิดว่าสาเหตุที่ดาราหญิงทั้งสี่คนนั้นได้รับรางวัลในชั้นที่สูงกว่ายงจุนของเราก็เพราะนักแสดงหญิงพวกนี้ต่างได้รับรางวัลจากเทศกาลภาพยนตร์นานาชาติจากผลงานภาพยนตร์ของพวกเธอ

ยังไงก็ตามพวกเอที่ได้รับรางวัลในระดับชั้นที่สี่ได้แก่ คัง ซุ เยียน (จากเรื่อง the surrogate woman) ชิน เฮ ซู (จากเรื่องadada) จอน โด เยียน (จากเรื่อง secret sunshine) และมุน โซรี(จากเรื่องoasis)

ไม่นะ คุณจำได้ไหมคะว่าเบยงจุนของเราก็เคยได้รับรางวัลนักแสดงหน้าใหม่ในวันนี้ today’s young artistในปีสองพันห้า โดยที่ผุ้มอบรางวัลในครั้งนั้นก็คือรัฐมนตรีคนเดียวกันกับคนที่เป็นผุ้มอบรางวัลด้านวัฒนธรรมคนนี้แหละ และถ้าความจำฉันยังดีอยู่นะ ฉันจำได้ว่าในครั้งนั้นยงจุนไม่ไปรับรางวัลดังกล่าวนะ หากแต่ให้คุณยังของเราไปรับแทนในนามของเขา จางนาราเป็นผุ้นำรางวัลนี้กลับบ้านไปในปีสองพันแปด

และดูเหมือนว่าปีที่แล้ว ลี ยอง เอ (และแจง ดอง กันด้วยหรือเปล่านะ ไม่ค่อยแน่ใจค่ะ)เป็นผุ้ได้รับรางวัลเชิดชูเกียรติด้านวัฒนธรรม(medals of cultural merit)อันใดอันหนึ่งจากกระทรวงเช่นกัน

มันเป็นเรื่องที่ทำให้ฉันสับสนไม่น้อยเหมือนกันว่าเหรียญรางวัลที่ลียองเอได้รับนั้นจะเป็นประเภทเดียวกับรางวัลทั้งห้าชั้นที่เราพูดไปหรือเปล่า แต่ฉันเดาเอาเองว่ามันคงเป็นคนละอย่างกันนะคะ เหรียญรางวัลทั้งห้าชั้นที่เราพูดถึงไปก่อนหน้านี้น่าจะเป็นรางวัลที่มอบให้แก่ผุ้ที่ทำคุณาประโยชน์ต่อการพัฒนาวัฒนธรรมและศิลปะ ในขณะเดียวกันเหรียญรางวัลเชิดชูเกียรตินั้นค่อนข้างจะให้แก่งานหลายประเภทและเจาะจงกว่าเหรียญรางวัล อาทิเช่น เป็นผลงานที่โดดเด่นหรืออะไรสักอย่าง

ฉันไม่แน่ใจนักนะคะและการคาดเดาของฉันอาจจะแย่กว่าของพวกคุณ ดังนั้นขอความกรุณาอย่าคิดว่าทุกอย่างในบล็อกนี้จะถูกต้องแม่นยำมากนักนะคะเพราะครึ่งหนึ่งของพวกนี้มาจากการคาดเดา ดังนั้น ฮิอิ ฉันจะไม่รับผิดชอบข้อเขียนของฉันในครั้งนี้นะคะ
